A wrap up with a personal note.

Assalamualaikum wr wb.

Dear Ladies,

Unfortunately, the journey for us as the Muslimah Night 08 Committee has ended. The event went well, with an overwhelming response!

Muslimah Night 08 would not have been possible without the aid of our sponsors as well as Taman Warisan. But most of all, it would not have been possible without all of those who had participated in the event, and all of those who had came to contribute in one way or another. The night was ROCKING cos of everyone's enthusiasm and high spirits!! :D

Alhamdulilah, God has answered our prayers by making it a success. Praise be to Him. However, the night had its limitations as well, as we are only humans.. I deeply apologize for the laggy start, as well as the limited food..! important note! ladies DO have quite an appetite :P i do apologize for that. hopefully, the rest of the night made up for that.

If there is any feedback or comments or questions on our event, please do not hesitate to let us know! We'd like to hear from you. you can get to us on our email: muslimahnight08@gmail.com or just tag on the board. :)

Other than that, my objectives for the night, i hope has been met.
1. i had hoped for a night of fun, and from the screams in the place and the smiles, i hope it had been fun for you.
2. i had also hoped for strengthening of ukhwa amongst us sisters. i have received texts from people thanking us for the event that had given them an opportunity to bond amongst their own friends, as well as to mingle with other muslimahs. Personally as well, i got to meet many other ladies and shared smiles, boogy moves and laughter with several other muslimahs who were once strangers, but in the room, there was a bond between us all. :)
3. my last objective was to give an opportunity for everyone to widen their social circle, so hey! how about facebooking?? join the MuslimahNight2008 group (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=12699772898) that has been set up. not obligatory of course, but it'd be fun, no? :) den we can happy happy add add each other. hee hee.

My committee had been working hard to make all these objectives possible. There are many many shortcomings of mine throughout the planning stages, and yet, we managed to stick together and pull it off. i give my deepest thanks to them for all the sacrifices they have made. and my heartfelt apologies for all my shortcomings and antics. really. They have been wonderful to work with and instead of our meetings being a drag as how meetings usually are, it was a pleasure spending all that times with them. i will miss them and the times we've shared. but at least God has blessed me with friendships of whole new dynamics. :)

I could not have asked for more out of the event, and i thank God and everyone who has made it possible. My sincerest thanks to all our guests for being there and being amazing, and my humblest thanks to my committee. Alhamdulilah.

Best Regards

Editor's Letter

hey girls,

i hope all of you are in good health (: have you all gotten your tickets for the much anticipated event this july? call all your girlfriends cos this will be a wonderful experience for all of you, InsyaAllah.

to me, sisterhood in Islam and being a Muslimah are two blessings from Allah that i tend to take for granted. being in the organizing committee itself has given me the lovely opportunity to make new friends, learn more bout the old and realize how lucky i am to be a Muslimah. im hoping that this year's Muslimah Night will be successful in strengthening the ukwah between my Muslim sisters and i, so that all of us can bloom together and invigorate each others' lives in the future, InsyaAllah.

although we wont be having any ustazahs to give a speech that night, i wouldnt say that the even is not religious. and i feel that having our sisters performing for us or a fashion runway or photo shoots are not in any way blasphemous if we have the right intentions. we intend to make this event a night of gratitude for having other Muslimahs we can hold on to and also for the Muslimah within all of us (:
with our sincere intentions, I hope this event will be a success. Amin.

(:

wassalam.

lots of love, hugs and kisses,

nurul 'ain

Taman Warisan

Assalamualaikum wr wb

As we all know, our event is to be held at Taman Warisan this year. Some would regard Taman Warisan as one of the most beautiful places in Singapore to hold events. And no doubt, it is very beautiful.

Taman Warisan is a sprawling area, allowing for events to be planned outdoors and the rooms in the building itself are classy and tastefully built.

And as for Muslimah Night, since it will be held at night, it is going to look like this! :D

Taman Warisan also known as the Malay Heritage Centre was made as an effort to ensure our Malay roots do not get eroded in the process of development and modernization. Their other objectives of multiculturalism and nationalism also strives for mutual understanding in cultural and religious harmonies.

Being active in their involvement in society such as holding events, classes, seminars and various other activities, they have space for youth volunteers to apply their developing abilities and their efforts onto culture for their future.

More information on Malay Heritage Centre can be found on their website:

http://www.malayheritage.org.sg/index.php

With the motto of the Malay Heritage Centre as 'To stay relevant, be proactive and dynamic', that is exactly what we are going to do in our event! :D

So 18th July
730 pm
at $12
at Taman Warisan
for games, prizes, food, performances and music

There are 3 things that we would like any of you to partake in as well:

1. 'The Muslimah Within' : Share with us what being a muslimah means to you.

2. Performance: any talent that you would like to share with us?

3. '(not so) Extreme Makeover': Free makeover to 5 lucky girls!

For all 3 of these, do email us at muslimahnight08@gmail.com. Otherwise, get your tickets asap by contacting any of the Committee Members or texting/calling 93807832! :)
